I am an American Citizen and got married 3 years ago and filed for the 2 year green card for my husband, he got the card no problem and filed for his 10 year unconditional green card back in September and is still waiting for it to come thru, He has called and they are saying there is a 6-8 month back log. My dilemma is our marriage has not worked out and I started the process for uncontested divorce in January, I still have not completely gone thru with the divorce as I do not want to see him lose his green card but I am wondering if I do file now will he lose his green card?
This is not a matrimonial question. You need to contact an immigration attorney to find out what affect a divorce would have on the process. Good luck.
