My ex has retaliated against me and made a false charge against me claiming I had stolen money from him. I was automatically arrested due to charges pressed but no proof. Just word vs. word.
I had witnesses to where I was during his claim of the crime. He also even came into the court room and admitted to false charges. They dropped the charges but the arrest is still on my record. It is preventing me from jobs. I was found innocent of this case. Why is it on my record and how can I get it off????
Background checks show both arrests and convictions. You were charged - you were arrested. You were NOT convicted. There is a difference. The arrest will always show unless you do something to remove it. Because charges were dropped you most likely will be able to expunge your record. That is the process of removing the arrest from any background checks.
