I was issued a ticket in Richmond, CA for turn signal violation by an officer in a white pick-up truck, no markings what so ever, and he was dressed in a white t-shirt, no visible uniform...I wouldn't have pulled over at for him at all except he was persistent, blinking his headlights at me and tailgating me, and the fact I knew the Richmond Police station was right up the street.
All I know is that I seemed to have made him angry b/c I changed lanes (not signaling, I looked over my shoulder) in front of him to line up behind a rail road crossing (of which a train was passing through)....he then pulled up next to me (remember I do not recognize him to be a police officer b/c of no uniform, badge, police car) and he rolled his window down to, I guess, yell or say something rude to me, or give me a hard time about my bumper stickers ( I had an Obama and a gay rights stickers) ( It was a week before the election) I wasn't sure..I thought he was some redneck giving me a hard time, so without hesitation, I said f*** you and rolled my window up ( so as not to indulge 'this' guy) and waited for the train to pass...when it did, I proceeded through after the railroad arms were lifted and traffic was moving again. The guy, or later found out officer, followed me, blinking lights, I reluctantly, b/c I was scared, pulled over for him in public view, where by he said to me, "You just said f**k you to the wrong guy" and he proceeded to write me out a ticket...I asked to see his badge, he pointed to it on his belt .
This ticket/scenario is so bizarre, creepy, that I want to contest this ticket!
How can I best fight this ticket?
