Had a parathyroidectomy on 3/27. During surgery consult and in pre-op never was it mentioned that a ‘titanium clip’ might be placed on my glands. After I woke from surgery I’m told they ‘put a clip on my last remaining parathyroid gland’ without my knowledge or consent. Husband was at both appts and said the same thing—it was never mentioned to us. Ever since surgery, I’ve had right sided numbness. That led to an ER visit plus a Ct scan and an MRI due to the numbness. Nothing found. But the timing of the start of the numbness lines up as being connected to this clip in my neck. Do I have a case?
A lot more information is needed. Did they cause permanent numbness or facial paralysis. You need a thorough work up to see what if any permanent injuries you may have. Medical malpractice cases are very expensive to file.
