I was involved in a car accident on the Ben Franklin Bridge (deemed NJ Territory) where the other party did not have car insurance coverage. The other driver showed proof of valid insurance but did not make payments. The insurance card was good for the police officer but the coverage had already lapsed. I would like the police officer (Delaware River Port Authority) to send tickets and fines to the address listed by the other driver. What is the maximum time limit after the accident the officer has to issue citations and fines?
The statute of limitations for a no insurance charge is 6 months. You can also ask the court to issue a ticket.
