I moved into a rooming house a few months ago. They required a Driver's License, as well as proof of employment. I provided a copy of my license, as well as my pay stub. I am current on rent, as well as no other issues. The landlord now wants me to provide them with my Social Security Number and Social Security card. I don't want to provide this information to them, nor do I feel that I should, after having lived in this room for six months. Am I legally required to provide this information to them at this point? Which laws require/not require me to furnish this information?
I doubt there is any such requirement but suggest you call the Landlord Tenant Affairs Office for Baltimore City to confirm.
