Contact a professional for sure who has experience with dealing with the FTB. The professional should also have tax preparation experience that can prepare the 6 years of delinquent tax returns. There are attorney, enrolled agents who are all capable of preparing your tax returns and dealing with the release of the levy.

It is irrelevant which one you choose. Your problem does not seem overly complex. I think there are CPAs, Enrolled Agents, and Tax Attorneys that are all good with tax controversy matters. I do however think CPAs are generally a little more geared towards compiling and preparing business tax returns. The problem is that many of the ones that are good at that, are maybe nor great at the tax controversy portion. I would suggest a CPA with a lot of experience dealing with the FTB. Or, you can get your returns done on the cheap somewhere, and hire a tax attorney for the clean-up.
You didn't state your Federal Tax status, and you didn't say if the FTB non-filing was such that you might need criminal help. Keep in mind that there is no privilege with a CPA/EA as to criminal. You may want o hire a criminal tax attorney AND a CPA/EA.
