If someone sublease my leased vehicle for the remaining term, what should be included in the sublease contract, besides time length/mile? Will I be in trouble if the person sublease it get into accident or if the person use the car illegally?
It's unlikely your contract allows for such a sublease. Get in touch with the lessor for approval and they will, if approved, put all relevant terms into the sublease...
As Mr. Kaufman stated, you must get the approval of the leasor. Otherwise you will be liable if the other person does not pay and ruins the car, etc. If you cannot transfer the lease and are hell bent on subleasing it, then make it a written requirement that you be an additional named insured on the car insurance and require that it be sent to you every six months and that you have access to the insurance information, and that you have a signed document regarding the remaining payments. What happens in these situations is that sublessees default on the payments leaving you to make them or be in default.
I agree with my colleagues. Beyond what they've said, you also run the risk of the other person not making the payments and not either giving you back the car or not and then you are really stuck.
