Letter written on May 12. Post marked May 15. Received May 18. No defined day as to cure issue. What day would be the cure by day? Are weekends and holiday counted? Need to know what the date to cure would be so we can help defend ourselves in court . Thank you for the advice.
Nashville is in Davidson county which uses the Uniform Residential Landlord Tenant Act also known as URLTA. Under the Act you must vacate the premises on the 14th day after RECEIVING the notice. Therefore the 14 days starts on the day you were notified (received the notice in the mail, May 18). It is June 16, and well past the 14 day notice. You should use the Find a Lawyer link located above to search for a local attorney in the Nashville area who handles landlord/tenant law.
This opinion does not establish an attorney-client relationship, should not be relied upon as legal advice, and does not compel responsive follow-up answers. You are cautioned to contact a local attorney in your area who is duly licensed and is in good standing with the local state Bar for legal advice.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
