Sports betting for someone under 18 years?

Not only is this not legal, but it's also a phenomenally bad idea. I shouldn't need to explain why allowing someone who is not legally of age, to make an illegal gambling bet in accounts registered in your name, is a bad idea. Doubly so with your money. If YOU -- not your son, but YOU, want to bet, you can go to a licensed sports book in one of the four states that allow sports betting under the Bradley Act: Nevada, Oregon, Montana and Delaware (and possibly soon New Jersey). What you are proposing is potentially putting both you and your son at risk for criminal charges. It's almost certainly setting you up to lose a bunch of money and cause a lot of drama with your son. Also a bit of advice - as a general rule in professional gambling, you will always be more reckless when you are betting with someone else's money than your own. There are basically no consequences here for your son if he loses your money. You're the one out the cash. You're also probably the one more likely to face criminal penalties, and they're likely to be more severe on you than they will be on him. And minors like to talk, making it more likely you're going to get in trouble. If you're son is routinely doing cash betting with his friends, as a minor, and now wants to bet online with your money this is raising a huge number of red flags. You might want to rethink your parenting approach here; you certainly should consider whether your son has a problem and should be going to Gambler's Anonymous meetings. This has all the warning signs of the early stages of a gambling addiction.

I think you're wrong. I think the only legal sports betting in the US is if you live in NV or if it's horse betting in CA or some other states. I do not think there is legal sports betting online for CA residents of any age.
