Cost me a lot for moving expenses, repair of things in house and then to restart electric, water, cable. Realtor does not believe I am owed anything. Can I sue? I am a senior citizen and this was very emotionally and physically painful.
I am sorry your sale of your home fell through.
Remedies for breach of a real estate contract should be set forth in the contract for purchase and sale. Often times the contract will state the deposit is forfeited. Emotional distress and physical pain are not recoverable items for breach of a real estate contract. You should consult with a local real estate attorney.

This happens but not often. You should have had 2 options in your contract. First the forfeiture of the earnest and secondly a lawsuit for specific enforcement. You should talk with your agent and then with an attorney in your area
