So this is my second offense, it was only 10$ stupid mistake yeah I know but what is done is done. So I’m getting my cdl in fork lifting and what not working long hours. I read something that said I have to do 15 days in community service. I work under the books and can’t miss work, is there any way I can pay it when I get my court notice? Without going to community service. If I need to pay a lawyer it’s fine I just can’t miss work
Did you plead guilty already to the second offense? Or is it still pending/open? Is community service part of the sentence you have to serve as part of your guilty plea? Not sure what is going on. If you want to speak to an attorney privately to get further guidance you should probably do that.

First, you should delete this post where you admit to getting paid "off the books" and admit to shoplifting. This is still a social media. Also, make your life easier and speak with an attorney to really fight for you. Best of luck
If you can win your case or get it reduced by hiring a good lawyer you may be able to avoid the community service. If you have already been sentenced to community service probably not much you can do about it except appeal (very expensive) or ask the judge for reconsideration (tough and not likely because it is mandatory if you were convicted). Thus the reason to always hire the best lawyer you can find to make sure you have the best chance of getting the best result.

An experienced criminal defense attorney will help by attempting to have charge dismissed or lowered. If things go bad, you may be able to serve CS on weekends.
Within the year means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It is not a stupid mistake, it is a conscious decision. Your penalty depends on what is worked out and you need a lawyer. Without one you will have to appear EVERY time it is scheduled regardless of work. And in Deptford, you will be there all day if you don't have a lawyer. Working off the books is a crime committed by both you and your boss so don't tell us here. You will still hae to miss work at least once and possibly more, but you will possibly get a result that keeps you out of jail and community service.

The community service only comes into play if you plead guilty or are found guilty of the charge. Consult with an attorney as soon as possible to see if there are any valid defenses.

First you need to see if they can prove the case. If they can you need to downgrade not easy or switch to a non shoplifting charge. The CS is attached to 2C: 20-11 but not other theft charges. It can be done.
