I’m in removal proceedings as my asylum case is in the court. Now I’m married to us citizen, my lawyer submitted i130 form with affidavit of bonafide marriage exemption, but didn’t submit joint lease or bank statements. He said we will submit at the time of interview. But I read people should submit with the form i130. Shoud I wait for the interview or still can I submit it as the actual petition has filed already. I will be very thankful for your answers.
Trust your lawyer! Kudos to you for familiarizing with your case but you should follow his/her instructions. When you submit a bona fide affidavit exemption in Immigration Court you do not need to attach all the documentation. Organize your documentation and gather financial records, proof of joint expenses, joint insurance, pictures, detailed affidavits from friends in common and relatives who are aware of your marriage. Best of luck!
