I just filed a VAWA and sent it out with the help of my lawyer. I am separated from my spouse now. I have the option of getting divorce or stay married and separated. I really do not know which one is better for me. I always have the hope that it works again but I also afraid that my spouse hurt me again. I am also worried that my VAWA be denied because my lawyer said my case is not strong and the process is sometimes very long. Will it be an advantage to stay married but separated? I really need the opinion multiple lawyers. Thanks
