At Christmas my daughter put some lipgloss in a tumbler cup as a gift for her stepmom. She put the makeup in to make sure it fit. She forgot to take it out and when she checked out the makeup was still in the cup. The security guard stopped her, she tried to pay for it as she said it was an accident. He wouldn’t let her pay for it and wrote a report. He did not arrest her as after viewing the cameras determined that it was an accident and couldn’t prove that it was intentional. I later Received a letter to pay $200 to Palmer, now I have Received another saying to pay $450. I called Them, they called my daughter a theif and said I need To stop defending her. This was truly an accident, my daughter is mortified that it happened and now I am Having to pay this??? I told Them I did Not pay the initial letter because I thought It was a scam. They are saying they will sue me if I do Not pay. I’m not sure what to do. They have several complaints filed against them and it looks like they are scamming people. What will happen if it is not paid?
