The mother of my child filed for child support through Division of Child Support office. I've been paying her religiously since my daughter has been born. It wasn't until about a month ago she decided to put in the paperwork through DCS. Since the case is pending (I'm requesting a hearing), should I continue to make the payments or should I set this money aside until the support order is final? I was told if I made payments to her directly, I would not get credited.
If you are writing checks, you will be credited. Be sure to fill out all the paperwork CSD sends you, including the part about all the money you have given her for support.
