Long story short, 3 weeks ago I was driving near Oakland CA on the Freeway when I was pitted by another car who merged into my lane at freeway speed. His insurance called me and assumed 100% liability. The damage to my car is roughly $4500. I did not go to the hospital, actually about. My neck had been really bothering me so I scheduled an MRI a couple days ago and I "severe" disk bulge was found 5-7mm. The insurance adjuster doesnt know but has been calling me everyday to follow up. I dont have health insurance and paid for the doc visit and mri out of my pocktet. Do I need an Attorney.? Doctor said I may need surgery. Do I tell the adjuster what was found.
You can settle your property damage claim while preserving your personal injury claim. Get local personal injury counsel involved before signing anything.
Yes, I would obtain an attorney for your injury claim. Contact a personal injury attorney in your area as soon as possible to preserve your bodily injury claim. You can use the "Find a Lawyer" link at the top of this page for names of attorneys in your area. Most even offer a free consultation. And don't give the insurance adjuster any kind of statement about your injuries until you have spoken to an attorney. Good luck!
Yes, if you sustained personal injuries, you will get a much better result if you hired an attorney, especially if you are still treating. Your attorney can communicate with the insurance adjuster; you should not.

Most definitely. I would strongly encourage you not to speak with the insurance company again. Please consult with a personal injury attorney. Timing can be critical.
1. At the present and in the future, do not communicate with the opposing party's automobile insurance carrier because the opposing party's automobile insurance carrier does not have your best interest(s) at mind and at heart. You need to consult with and hire a licensed California personal injury attorney.
2. At the date and time of the automobile accident, did you have active automobile insurance on the vehicle that you were driving that was involved in the automobile accident?
3. Was there a police report made/filed?
Let your attorney represent you. You should obtain needed medical care and treatment immediately and follow the doctor's advice. Do not give any statements to the adverse party or insurance company nor grant them access to any medical records. Photograph the injuries and the damage done to any property. Contact a personal injury attorney in your area as soon as possible so that you can protect your rights.
