I am a Homeowner. I thought due to Home depot good reputation. I had a new kitchen installation done with them it started in Jan 2016. And they are using Total Professional Installations company. I ordered cabinets with them took 6 weeks to arrive. T.P.I set up times in Feb 2016 for 3/21/2016 to 3/25/2016. Told when cabinets arrive accept them all even if they were damaged for the layout. Home depot stated that they would send and reorder problem cabinets. Installers left on Friday 3/25/2016 without finishing due to several reasons.
3/29/2016 had store manager assistant manager and cust ser rep at my house. Cab reordered and Received at Home depot store location on 3/20/2016. as of 3/20/2016 from home depot customer service rep Mark from T.P.I has not been in contact with store, in regards to replace and remove cabinets. so that I can have a proper sink and countertop. Which I have been without since 3/21/2016. There is also a additional 14 days for the countertop to be installed. I have until 7/15/2016 to sign that I am satisified. I have not been satisified yet. as of 3/23/2016
If you are not satisfied, do not sign. However, I don't think that 2 days without a sink and a countertop in one room of the house is that big of a deal considering this is a voluntary upgrade.
It seems that your timeline is not correct. It does sound like Home Depot is trying to correct the problems you describe. I suggest you schedule a meeting with the manager so the plan for going forward can be explained thoroughly. If you believe that you are being cheated or that your contract is not being fulfilled, then consult a lawyer in your area.
