While dancing in a nightclub the wet ground caused me to fall on the person I was dancing with. The person decided to file a claim for personal injuries. Since I do not have personal health insurance to use. Should I contact the firm to see the demands or seek defense first?
It seems ridiculous that they would be making a claim against you personally, as it is very difficult to collect a judgment from an individual. They would need to have a full blown (expensive) trial, get a judgment and collect it. Also, you are not negligent for slipping if there was liquid on the ground! If I was handling the case for the dancer, I would sue the nightclub, not you! It might be worth it to have an attorney call for you and talk to this attorney, and point out how ridiculous it is to sue you!
