I have a few questions regarding expungement/seals of a criminal record.
I just want to verify that expungement is not possible for something on a record past 18 years old, correct?
When you seal a record, does the background check show that you've had something sealed?
When it comes to security clearances, I read that you typically will be interviewed by a federal employee, who will question the seal, which may actually make you look worse (like you're hiding something) than if you had not sealed it in the first place.
You may be able go to the Colorado Department of Public Safety (CDPS) website and run a criminal background check on yourself and see if it comes up. There is a possibility that if you have not officially expunged that it may be on your record. I would have an attorney in your area who does expungements check on it. Best of luck.
