This isn’t a legal question, but I’ll do my best nevertheless. In addition to using your mobile phone to call 911 you have a few other options available to you.
First, you can check the App Store for your device and locate an app that has a “hold until safe” feature.
Second, you can take a self-defense class so that you can lean how to defend yourself and not be fearful.
Finally, if all else fails and you still don’t feel comfortable using ride-share services, look into alternative ways to get around.
Let’s See. You have a smartphone, because you had to have one to call Uber. In they absolutely remote event that anything untoward, such as a kidnapping, should begin to happen you would simply take your index finger and tap out the number 911 on the phone app on your smart phone.
