I have suffered from severe schizophrenia since 1979, on and off, goes into remission. Since that time, I have been on a variety of medications on and off throughout the decades while continuing to work. However, I’ve been on Risperidone from 2000 to 2017, throughout which there were better, newer drugs introduced to the market, but I was kept on Risperidone, during which I experienced extreme weight gain, amenorrhea, high cholesterol, tardive dyskinesia, constipation, severe degenerative arthritis due to the weight gain, disfigured mouth, and many other symptoms. Today, my main concern is that 14 months ago, I developed drug induced Parkinson’s disease from the Risperidone. This will greatly inhibit my ability to work and support myself. I have sought out legal help to no resolve, due to the fact that class actions suits against the makers of Risperidone do not include Parkinson’s disease”. Please advise.
Certainly see your physician to discuss this in full
Consult with your primary care physician regarding side effects. You could also search online for National Law Firm handling class action and mass tort pharmaceutical drug cases. They should be able to tell you where there are currently any action pending regarding Risperidone.
