Couple in South Carolina separate (not married) . Girlfriend decides to take vehicle without a discussion or asking (stole). Truck is in boyfriend's name. He tried to call police and report it stolen but they told him "it is common law and that they can't do anything" no report filed. meanwhile girlfriend is driving in another state w/ his truck and no insurance. According to SC common law they should not be considered married. She has his truck and will not return it as he has kindly asked. He does not know her location or where she is staying. He is frustrated because it is his truck and no one will do anything about it. Please help me in assisting him in the process of getting the car returned.
