My daughters "father" is in prison for criminal sexual conduct 3rd degree with force. he was only charged with one girl, all together there were 4 girls. He has never been in my daughters life ( she's 8) my daughter knows nothing about him. We went to court a few times for child support but he never showed up. He will be released from prison in may 2017. Is there any chance of him getting visitation? he wrote me once last year telling me he was going to try for visitation. I am terrified of him he was very abusive while we were together
Yes, there is a chance. If your judge granted visitation, it would likely be short periods of supervised time with her. You should consider having an experienced family law attorney begin the process now to limit or terminate any parenting time that has been ordered. It is also possible that a condition of his parole will be that he not have contact with minor children.
The opinion that I express should not be considered to be legal advice that can be relied on. It is based only on the limited amount of information provided rather than doing a thorough review of all of the important information that is required to give accurate legal advice. You should consult with an attorney that has extensive background in the area of the law that your are inquiring about.
