Dfacs was called and i know it was spiteful. They've spoken with my son at school. Came and did a home visit, next step is drug test. Can i refuse? What's the process afterwards. Case was opened mid Dec? Court order be filed for me 2 do so? Just wanna know my rights. Never been in trouble and job requires me to save people. Please help.
Are they concerned that you are using drugs, or your son? Who are they investigating?
You can probably refuse the drug test, unless there is a specific court order requiring you to submit to it. But if you do, then your refusal will become part of the report and is likely to look suspicious.
You should meet with a criminal defense lawyer before this goes any further. The DFCS investigation, by itself, isn't necessarily a problem, but if you think that drug use might turn up, you should be prepared.
