What are the fines for reckless driving in Virginia 13 over on 83 MPH ?
Any speed 80 mph or above can be reckless, a class 1 misdemeanor with a max of 12 months in jail and a $2500 fine. Speeding is fined at $6 for every mile over the speed limit. Talk to a local experienced traffic attorney about your specific charge and likely outcome.
You should consult an attorney about your reckless driving ticket right away. Fines and costs may be the least of your worries. If you're found guilty, you will be convicted of a misdemeanor offense and you will have a criminal record that will follow you for life. An attorney can help you with proactive action-items prior to court, advise you of how much to be prepared to pay in fines and costs, and even help negotiate for the reduction of this charge to a simple traffic ticket rather than the criminal offense with which you are currently charged, Good luck to you.

First - you are likely charged with a CRIME - the same level as a DUI of driving on a suspended - - because in Virginia, any speed 80 or above is a crime! Now many times we can get that reduced or dismissed (depending), because we know the prosecutors and judges and what to say, etc. But you should know what you are facing!!!

You should not be as worried about fines as jail and a lifetime criminal record (VA does not expunge or seal criminal convictions).
