It can only be an infraction but if your probation condition is to NOT consume any alcohol, it may be a probation violation.
Technically you are in violation of the probation term that you obey all laws. You are Very unlikely to have your probation revoked over this, however, unless not drinking was a specific term. If you get a letter saying that a probation violation is bring filed, hire a lawyer who can collect all the relevant facts that I don't know. If not, I wouldn't worry about it.
I agree, if it is filed as an infraction (probably will), you will not be violated. If filed as a misdemeanor it might, but since you were not driving it should not be that much of a problem. It depends somewhat on what court or courts you are in. Is your new citation and probation in the same court/county?
