Received a ticket for 26 miles over speeding limit in GA. If I do the Defensive Driving class, could the courts drop the charge?
I received a ticket for going over 25 miles over the speeding limit. I don't believe that I was driving that fast. However, I am thinking of completing the defensive driving course to see if they can either reduce my points or drop the charge altogether. I want the class to be the last option if I cant get the courts to reduce the charge or drop it altogether. Should I complete the defensive driving course and hire a lawyer or complete the course without hiring a lawyer?

Completing the class would be very beneficial to you. You should also contact an attorney to discuss your case. Where I practice, courts typically require this class, especially for "super speeder" tickets. You may be able to get the speed reduced and the class would be helpful in doing so.
