I am subject to random alcohol and drug tests from Berea Municipal Court and it states on the paper work that I must go to an actual medical facility for the test if I am called. However, do they also test at the actual court? I have my first probation appointment next week, will I have to take a test there, or is it only at the medical facility where they can get one? I have never had to do this before so I am not sure what to expect. I can't imagine a probation officer taking a cup of pee in their office... The whole thing seems quite embarrassing. I appreciate your help.
The hospital may be doing a more quantitative test than the court, but both may take samples. Typically the court does only a screening test that would The only safe thing is to study every day so you can pass, which ever test or tests they require. The probation department probably has a protocol for collecting the sample, usually in a private restroom to cut down on the embarrassment factor.
The best thing for you to do is talk to your probation officer. He or she will want you to follow their normal program for the drug testing. The probation officer is usually more than willing to help you get through the testing successfully if you work with them. Give them a call and then make sure that you follow the instructions that they give you!
