Husband got pulled over and charged with a DUI . He has no drivers license and is on probation. He was arrested and released the next day. He went and checked in with probation where he was arrested and put in jail for violation. Is this charge serious? Is he looking at some time?
Was he on probation for a serious charge? When someone violates probation, the judge has many options, including imposing a sentence up to the maximum for the offense that got him placed on probation in the first place.
If he can't afford to hire his own lawyer, the judge will appoint one from the Public Defender's Office when he goes to court. That lawyer will have enough information to give you a meaningful answer.
