Previous employer not giving exp letter

for my labor form my previous employer which was consultancy , that i joined when i was in my opt, i have my h1 with another employer , and for my green card my current employer asking exp. letter from previous company, but they are not giving me . i tried to have affidavit from my colleague, but as we are in different location,notary is not possible,

Why isn't a notary possible? Your colleague does not need to be in the same location as you. Your colleague could be in another state or country - he would just need to get the affidavit notarized in front of a notary registered in that state or country.
