My wife name has changed to after marriage name legally. We have name change letter from probate court.
Current status:- She has SSN and EAD having her before marriage name.
She got her new passport with after marriage name.
Valid Visa is still on old passport (with her before marriage name).
Apply for name change with SSA and new EAD with name change.
Attorney Robert Brown's (former INS Director, 1972-99) reply to your question is general in nature, and does not constitute legal advice as all facts are known to him. For specific advice or representation you should retain an attorney experienced in immigration law. Mr. Brown's reply on AVVO does not create an attorney/client relationship not constitute legal advice.
you have to file I765 with fees and ask for replacement of the card. Once you have the card, go to SSA with the new card and marriage certificate .

Apply for a new EAD with the new name and then bring the documentation to SSA. Contact a US immigration attorney for assistance.
I agree with colleagues but if you are in the process to having your wife to adjust status to permanent residence, then you can fill out the forms with her married name and receive the EAD with her new married name. The SSA office will go by the passport, EAD and marriage record to issue the social security card in proper name.
