I recently moved back to WA state and have applied for employment. The employer called me back and stated that I need an affidavit for my background. Then she continued to tell me that my to be "clean" background came back with theft 3 and failure to appear. I called the court and the clerk told me I have a warrant from 2011. In which I went to the grocery store with a roommate we shopped proceeded to check out then began to leave before exiting the store security stopped us and detained us till police came. I was with her and she had stolen approx. $123.00 in items. We were both given court dates. I went and it was rescheduled a week or two. I showed to that next hearing when I was told it was dismissed. She was found guilty and did community service. Now in present day it is said on my record the charges are pending on a theft 3 and gross mis bail jump. What do I do? Clerk stated I need to show up at 8am and talk to judge. Please help. I have no idea what this entails and I've never been in any kind of trouble.
You'll need an attorney. He can get the minutes from the court date where you believe your charges were dismissed. That will confirm if you are correct and this is a mistake by the court or if you were incorrect about what happened.
You need to consult with an attorney to find out what is going on, and what occurred with the court in 2011. The court system can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate and an attorney can help you through the process and understand exactly what occurred in your case
