I am currently pregnant and have been put on lifting restrictions at my job and have been granted light duty , I have been working for this job for almost a year , and they are now trying to demote me down a position and lower my pay ...can they legally do this ?
You need to consult with an employment attorney. Ohio law permits an employer to change the employment status "at will", except for certain protected classes (race, religion, etc.). Pregnancy is a protected status. You can use the Find a Lawyer tab here on Avvo to locate a lawyer.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not. What determines Avvo Rating?Experience & background
