I am enrolled in PHD program in pharmacological and physiology department at reputed US University. I am in fourth year of my PHD. I came for student visa extension at Mumbai Consulate on Friday. They gave me a green slip with list of documents to be submitted.

I had all documents with me but interviewer refused to take those documents at that time. Green slip says there is no timeliness when this will be resolved. Is there anyway to speed up the process. I have never been out of status, no issues. I don't know why interviewer gave me green slip. This mess up my travel plan to come back to USA. Can I also hire US Attorney to review document before I email to consulate? Will that speed up?
there is no help that cab be extended. administrative processing is a force major and cannot be overcome. You need to wait.

Once singled out for "AP" nothing and no one can "help" you to speed up the process of the clearance request. You simply need to wait the time it takes. That's all.

Mr. Segal is correct, unfortunately there is no way to speed up the process as it's purely administrative in nature. Certain consulates overseas would allow you to call and check with the status of process, that is the only way to find out how far along you are. Sorry.
