Last July I recieved an open container ticket and had a scheduled court date to pay in september. It is now July of the following year and I am flying from NY to Florida in 2 days! After Florida, I am getting on a cruise ship that will leave the county. Will my warrant show up when the airport or ship runs my ID/passport?
Yes the warrant will liklely show up when you go through custms and immigration (not the ship or the airline) trying to get back into the country. Keep in mind that so long as there is an active warrant you can be arrested anywhere at any time. I suggest you take care of and resolve this as soon as possible.
Possibly on the ship.....

I am a criminal defense attorney practicing in Nassau, Suffolk and New York City. The above information is not a substitution for a meeting whereas all potential legal issues can be discussed.
The warrant will most likely show-up when you attempt to re-enter the country. Depending on where you do that, you could be taken into custody for hours or days while the local authorities try to contact the NY authorities only to be told that they won't extradite you on such a minor charge. The warrant will stay active though and can happen again. I suggest you resolve this before you travel.
