She ran away really her mom forgot to pick her up form the mall so she went to a friends house anad the cops showed up at her school and took her in to custody
Unless your friend has had previous problems running away or other criminal charges, most likely she is looking at being supervised by juvenile probation, and having a psycho/social evaluation (and based upon that eval, possibly counseling).

Assuming your friend is under age 17 and has never been arrested, she could be adjudicated delinquent by a Juvenile District Court and treated accordingly. The more likely outcome is that she will be placed on juvenile probation and have to observe nominal restrictions imposed by the court.
