I got hired 3 days back, and on first day I submitted my OPT card as employment eligibility. Today I went to my supervisor to get 1-983 training form filled and the manager advised me that he wasn't aware I am international student and that I would need h1b visa in future. Even though they are e-verified and hr accepted my EAD and verified it. What should I do now? I left another job in order to accept this one, moved from west to east coast.
Employers are not required to file an H1B. Contact an independent US immigration attorney to review options.
You should have talked to the employer about this prior to accepting the job offer. Have an attorney speak with your employer.
Mr. Shusterman's (former INS Trial Attorney, 1976-82) response to your question is general in nature, as not all the facts are known to him. You should retain an attorney experienced in immigration law to review all the facts in your case in order to receive advice specific to your case. Mr. Shusterman's statement above does not create an attorney/client relationship.
