That's impossible to know. I assume you had an attorney in the case - talk to them about getting an extension. It is definitely in your best interests to follow the court order of community service.

I agree that you should either get the hours done in time, or ask the judge for an extension. A judge will likely not be very understanding if you say you'd rather take jail when he has extended you the chance to do community service instead.
