I was just arrested & charged with 3 counts of bank fraud, & listed as the "ring leader" in 29 person indictment in the eastern district of wa. They say that i cashed bogus checks on two different dates. I have not ever cashed any checks. NEVER. I wont say that i was or was not aware of things going on - but i did not attempt to cash any checks. I registered for an account on the pacer website. I was able to gain access to all the dockets and co defendants info. The woman who had created all these checks was originally charged with 78 different counts, now she is no longer a defendant, but rather listed as the plaintiff, and her attorney is the prosecutor on the case. basically its saying she is going to be testifying against all the people she made checks for. and now im ring leader.I was the only one who they detained with a"US MARSHALL HOLD" which that term doesnt even exsist. The only one whose name was in the paper, out of 29 defendants, only my name. I have no clue how in the f&%# they can charge me for something that i assume i can clearly prove was not me. and why is it ok that the worthless bitch who created this entire scenerio is now the one and only state's witness and planning to testify against all those people who cashed checks for her? What can i do and who can i talk to? this IS NOT how our judicial system should work. How should i handle this? How many good taxpaying citizens are even aware of how dirty our court system can be? Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated. Should I contact the media?and for whatever its worth- these people, my co defendents, are not anyone i know by face or by name- these people i do not hang around with- i do however, know the girl who started all this becasue of friend of mine was once a friend of her friends---
You need to hire an attorney with whom you can established a confidential relationship, give that lawyer the full story, and go from there. Some of the things you noted here are likely best kept between you and the lawyer you hire, and some suggest that this is a civil matter and not an indictment being prosecuted by a United States Attorney.
So hire a lawyer, and good luck.
This answer DOES NOT create an attorney-client relationship, and you need to consult a lawyer very quickly with whom you can create such a privileged relationship. This answer does not address the many specific variables that would constitute responsible legal counsel. This answer is meant only as general guidance -- particularly to hire an experienced lawyer for this complex question.
First, you should not be posting in public places what you knew or didn't know. Second, in a conspiracy, you can be guilty without ever having cashed a check, by recruiting others or doing anything to help. Third, it is not unusual that defendants cut deals to testify against others in exchange for less time. Fourth, a Marshall's hold means that the Feds have a detainer on you. Probably, you are in state custody but the Feds are going to prosecute you. Finally, talking to the media will only hurt you. You need to shut up and get a lawyer. You are facing serious charges and tacking about it is making your situation worse. You need an attorney who has experience with federal criminal cases. Despite your outrage, anyone with any familiarity with the system will tell you that nothing about your situation is unusual. Get a good lawyer and stop talking about your case.

I agree with the others here. You need to hire a lawyer or get a public defender appointed right away. Stop talking about this case online and don't make a statement with law enforcement until you've consulted with an attorney.
You need to understand that there is no confidentiality guaranteed by this forum. If you have an attorney, and it sounds like you do, you need to ask these questions of your attorney and stay off the internet with any admissions of knowledge or guilt.
Best of luck.
