A letter was sent to the wrong address for this abatement of child support. The letter says my child doesn't live with me when she does. What do I need to send back to prove she is living with me? Also at the end of the letter it has the wrong name. I thank anyone who can answer this. The answer is helpful but I did forget to mention that the non-custodial parent lives in Michigan. Is that gonna make a big difference?
If your child is living with you, you need to file a Motion to Abate Support to stop your support or a Petition to Modify Support to change support payment from you to the other parent. To prove she is living with you when the motion or petition is heard, you can use things like school records or tax records or the testimony of neighbors.
