My deceased mother is Trustee for a boyfriend's estate whom passed away leaving her everything there is no successor and the boyfriend was a widower/Successor Trustee for the living trust which he shared with his wife prior to her demise. There are no successors named only myself the sole heir and my mother was intestate as the sole heir to her estate which includes his estate which is still in trust as well as his deceased wife's still sitting in the trust. There are no actual trust docs any where to be found, but I know they did exist as the financial and investment institutes continue to send mail to my mother's address where I now reside. How do I go about collecting these assets???
This is a mess with no simple answer.
If you can find the trust docs, then they will provide info on how to proceed.
Without them, you will need court orders to collect these assets.
It would be best to consult with a probate attorney on this.
