Hello, I got cited for not having proof of insurance at the moment. The vehicle is insured, however, because I was borrowing the vehicle i am not on the insurance. Will I have to be on the insurance for the citation to be dismissed or do I just present the insurance that the vehicle is covered under? Thank you!
Best bet is to retain a local traffic court lawyer to resolve it for you. Avvo has a great lawyer finder tool to locate an attorney close to your home. Good luck.
Odd, usually the citation is to the owner. Present the insurance showing it's covered is all. Plead not guilty if they won't drop it but do all this in the time allowed to plead not guilty.
If you present your insurance to the clerk of court, they will likely dismiss the citation for a $10 fee.
