High velocity arrows flying into/through my yard on a regular basis because they miss the target often. These are full-on hunting arrows with tips (I picked one up, photographed it and looked it up). Contacted the police in my town of >10k twice - even administration. Was told (even they were appalled/surprised) that the ordinances were redone last year and this is now legal. Was told there was nothing they can do for me, other than patrol by and "casually" suggest they aim their arrows toward the empty lot behind them. They were nice about it. However, it is not safe to be in my own back yard. I am fearful that myself, my dogs, or visitors (no one will let their kids come over now) will be injured or killed. How is this right?? What can I do? I absolutely cannot believe I have to live like this and am just sick over it. This is in the middle of a small normal town with houses close together. (If I could afford a fence, I would already have one up.) Talking to these neighbors is out - very unsavory characters to put it mildly. I am not in Peoria, but within 60 miles.
Yikes, sorry to hear this is happening to you. Based on what you've said above (and understand that I've done no research on how the law impacts your particular situation), it sounds like you may have a trespass claim. Talk to a local attorney about this issue - if you have a title insurance policy, ask the attorney to review your policy to see if this issue is covered by your title insurance.
