I applied for N400 17 months ago ( Feb 2017) and after I did my fingerprints it never got updated online ; it still shows fingerprints has been scheduled, made 4 infopass visits and all they tell me is my case is stuck in background check, I would like to know what are my options? Or I just need to wait more.
You may wish to force USCIS to make a decision. A consultation is recommended.

Unfortunately you have to wait. You can do a Congressional inquiry but that won’t help much. If you have not heard anything by 18 months, a Board Certified Immigration attorney can make direct inquiries with CIS. Good luck.
Consider submitting another set of your fingerprints to assure an update.
