About 2 years I was a victim of phone harassment, I was getting death threats and he was calling my work and telling reception awful things about me that are not true. This guy has been in and out of jail for two years, some of it was related to what he did to me, and other things too. Just when I thought it was over, I get a letter from a lawyer. Apparently he wants to sue me for $6,000 for his lawyer fees.
You got a letter. You didn't get a summons and complaint. For now, you do not need a lawyer. Consult with one if you are uncomfortable. The whole thing sounds ridiculous. Is the letter even from a real lawyer? www.iardc.org
Does the letter from the lawyer state the basis of his claim against you? From what have stated here, it sounds like it wouldn't take much to make him (and the lawyer) back off. It certainly couldn't hurt to consult an attorney; most of us provide free consultations. www.galivanlaw.net
