I am married and left roughly two years ago. My spouse was extremely abusive. I have friends who witnessed portions of the abuse, I have an email my spouse sent me admitting to hitting me, I have many emails from my spouse with are manipulative. I also have some evidence that my spouse hacked into my email and social media accounts. But it’s been 2yrs since any of that evidence was collected. The problem is my spouse is still stalking me and contacting my family (despite being told not to) telling them either highly personal information or straight up fabricated lies. But it’s destroying what relationship I have with them. I know my ex is still stalking me because just two days ago my ex sent a message to my mother in which he revealed that he knew what I had been doing the first half of this year (with details) and those details were not well known, not on any social media sites or anything so no idea how my ex found out. Anyway I have been told that I don’t have enough current evidence to get an OP. Is there anything else I can do to stop my ex contacting my family and searching for me? I can’t continue to live like this. I feel powerless.
You need to finalize things and get a divorce. Talk to a lawyer and get it done. The court will look at the issues of abuse and can enter a no contact order as part of the judgment. See a lawyer.
