We have been divorced for 10 years we have joint physical custody with her primary caregiver my son which will be 15 in May wants to come live with me whenever he wants to try to spend extra time with me his mother does not allow yet my daughter who is 13 hasn't come and stayed with me for a year and a half and she does not encourage our daughter to spend time with me. My son continually thinks that the only reason his mother wants him in her household is so she can get child supportm My son gets great grades in school A's and B's, very popular very good student. I set guidelines and boundaries for him I have done more than meet my ex more than halfway and working together I'm trying to raise these kids but she seems to have it one-sided very frustrating that she wants to limit the time he spends with me but does not encourage our daughter to come visit me.
His opinion could be taken into consideration. You should speak with an experienced family law attorney about your options.
Writing a letter to a judge would be a waste of time.
If you want to modify custody, you'll need to file an action to modify. The judge may or may not take his desires into consideration when deciding.
