I absolutely would not take this minor with you, especially if you're going to be moving out of state. The proper procedure to taken is for the minor to petition the court for emancipation, or have the parents give you limited guardianship of their child. Notwithstanding the fact that this minor wants to go and is 17 years of age, and would indicate to the authorities that it is what he/she wants, you could still be charged with a criminal offense in my opinion.
