I had gotten a ticket and towed. Now, I got a notice that my reason is valid and I don't need to pay the ticket. However, what about the towing expense? How do I get my money back from that?
The city/government did not tow you car -- they contracted a private company to do so. If anyone is going to refund you the money for the towing it would be the city/government, not the tow yard.

Unfortunately, this is a very common issue and question that does not have a quick and easy fix or answer. And, I am unaware of any attorney that regularly deals with this issue as part of their practice: towed vehicles and parking tickets.
Request a refund from the city and the towing company. If they refuse then sue both in small claims court. It will be up to them to figure out who owes you the money. Good luck.
The response above is general information related to law and not intended as legal advice since it’s impracticable to provide thorough, accurate advice based upon the query without additional details. It is highly recommended that one should seek advice from an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction by setting up a confidential meeting. Moreover, this response does not constitute the creation of an attorney-client relationship since this message is not a confidential communication because it was posted on a public website, thereby publicly disclosing the information, which is another reason to setup a confidential meeting with an attorney.
